Police appeal for witnesses after vehicle break ins

The police are appealing for witnesses following a string of vehicle break ins this weekend.

The Ilfracombe Police has asked to speak to victims and witnesses following a ‘series of vehicle breaks and criminal damage’ cases on Friday night and Saturday morning.

The crimes took place across Ilfracombe, from the Larkstone area to the Torrs Park area.

A police spokesman said: “The majority of the crimes we have identified involve vehicles having had a window smashed to gain entry, however we also believe insecure vehicles have been entered.

“There has also been other vehicle damage in the area, where cars have had panels scratched and holes made.”

A phone box had also been damaged in the area.

The police ask for people to contact them on 101 or 101@dc.police.uk and quote the crime reference number CR/60539/17.
