Police appeal after sexual assault on girl, 12, in Ilfracombe

Officers appeal to anyone who saw teenage boy who allegedly assaulted the 12-year-old in Ilfracombe park.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a girl was sexually assaulted in Bicclescombe Park in Ilfracombe.

The 12-year-old girl was walking through the park at around 8.45pm on Saturday, December 12, when she was approached from behind by a teenage boy.

The boy assaulted her and the girl ran away. He chased her until he was spotted by a member of the public, said police.

The boy is described as being in his mid to late teens, around 5ft 9ins in height and was wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a hooded top.

He was carrying a small over-the-shoulder bag.

Officers are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone else who has information that could assist with the investigation.
