FROZEN characters, witches, plenty of sheep, the World Cup and the ever popular pirates all provided plenty of fun for the annual carnival parade in Combe Martin tonight (Wednesday).

The procession made its way down the mile-plus village street, with Disney smash hit Frozen giving plenty of inspiration for some creative floats and walking entries.

Disney also provided lots of characters for a huge walking group from Combe Martin Pre-school, plus the Wildlife and Dinosaur Park returned to the ice age for the evening for some megalithic mayhem.

The carnival week funs continues, with bingo tomorrow (Thursday) at the Village Hall from 7pm and on Friday the Children’s Pavement Art Competition begins at 10.30am in Borough Road at the seaside, with all welcome to enter.

There is a second parade on Friday, with the Wheelbarrow Race at 8pm. New for this year, families and children are invited to join in too, assembling from 6.45pm at Holdstone Way. The show closes at 9.30pm with a firework display at the beach.
