The Westbeach Resort in Westward Ho! will have two swimming pools and a swim-up bar overlooking the Atlantic once completed.

Construction of luxury, serviced apartments in Westward Ho! are on track for completion next year.

The enlargement of the Westbeach Resort is progressing on schedule, with work due for completion in the summer of 2018.

Sitting next to to Westward Ho! promenade, this three-acre site will include 160 self-contained apartments, as well as a health spa and two swimming pools - one on the rooftop, with a swim-up bar that looks out across the Atlantic.

James Harrington, business development manager for exclusive marketing agents Emerging Property, said: “Serviced apartments provide a family-friendly ‘home-from-home’ holiday experience, with larger, better value accommodation than a hotel, as well as private kitchens and social areas.”

This extension to the £18million development has been prompted by high visitor demand.

The first two phases have been open for business since 2012, and these 48 apartments have been fully booked throughout each subsequent tourist season.

Mr Harrington continued - “The location is breathtaking.

“North Devon already attracts around six million visitors a year, who spend £2.1billion.

“And while Westward Ho! has always been a popular resort, Torridge District Council’s ambitious seafront regeneration programme is likely to bring even more visitors to the town.

“We’re very excited to be part of that scheme, and hopefully this property investment can help make a positive contribution to the local economy.

“We are really looking forward to the opening of Westbeach’s new facilities, particularly the town’s only indoor heated swimming pool, providing families with a very welcome bad weather option.”
