A silver Toyota was left heavily damaged after ploughing into a fence at Northam this morning (Friday).

Police said the crash happened at around 7am, with the 23-year-old man behind the wheel of the Bideford registered silver Toyota hatchback taken to North Devon District Hospital with minor injuries.

The collision also destroyed a section of wooden fence backing on to a residential garden.
