Music, Minions and Wild West escapees take to the streets for Ilfracombe Carnival 2014.

The promised rain did not seem to deter the hundreds of people who took to the streets last night (Thursday) to enjoy Ilfracombe Carnival.

Leading the parade in the Dotto Train were carnival princesses Ellie O’Rourke, Ellen French and Gemma Wright, joined by the Mayor, Councillor George Squires, plus Town Crier Roy Goodwin and several guests.

There were a variety of creative entries, with Despicable Minions Lego people, cowboys and Indians all turning out, as well as several float entries from Combe Martin Carnival last week.

Proceeds from this year’s carnival, organised by Events 4 Ilfracombe and with marshalling help form Ilfracombe Rotary Club, will go to North Devon Hospice.
