AROUND 100 people joined together to enjoy a Big Lunch in Westward Ho! yesterday (Sunday).

Organisers Ginette Berry and Terry Thorpe said residents gathered for a free ploughman’s lunch in the Kingsley Hall.

They added: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity, the wonderful spirit of support and community from everyone during our Big Lunch.

“It’s been a brilliant day and we’ve had around 100 people sitting down to lunch and 26 people from the local theatre group who provided the entertainment.”

The Big Lunch, which is funded by the Big Lottery Fund, encourages people across the UK to sit down with their neighbours once a year.
