A BADLY burnt out caravan was discovered by the side of the road in Lovacott by police this morning (Tues).

A fire engine from Barnstaple was called to the single track lane around 9.30am as the burnt out shell was still smouldering.

Crews dampened the caravan, which was 100 per cent destroyed by the fire, with a hose reel jet.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service spokesman said: “It appears that the caravan fire was deliberate.”
