Organisers delighted with centenary celebrations at Hartland Carnival on Saturday.

HUNDREDS of people lined the streets of Hartland on Saturday to enjoy the ‘best ever’ carnival celebrations.

Despite pouring rain, onlookers donned their wellies and put up their umbrellas to celebrate the occasion’s centenary year.

The colourful procession made its way around the village including Disney characters, Minions, trains, Picadilli Circus and Hogwarts inspired entries.

Carnival committee secretary Julia Boyle said: “Despite the rain it was absolutely brilliant – I would say our best carnival ever.

“There were lots of astounding entries and even I was bowled over by the support and the standard of the floats and costumes.

“It was better than ever with a lovely atmosphere, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us and helped make this happen.”
