Archant

The Glorious Oyster smashed its fundraising target today (Wednesday) and will be up and running from Westward Ho! seafront.

A BIDEFORD businesswoman has successfully hit her £5,000 fundraising total through crowd funding.

Lyndsay Platt asked for pledges through Crowdfunder to raise money to convert a horse box into a street food cart selling oysters and seafood in Westward Ho!

The crowd funding ended this morning (Wednesday) at 11am and just two minutes before pledge were due to close, Lyndsey exceeded her total.

“It’s been an emotional 28 days and your support, encouragement, momentum and generosity as truly been incredible and amazing,” she wrote on Facebook.

“I can’t wait to see you all at The Horsebox in Westward Ho! very soon.”

Lyndsay managed to raise a total of £5,020 with the 89 backers offered something in return for their pledge, from seafood hampers to vouchers for the horsebox.

The Glorious Oyster will shortly be up and running from its new position next to the green on Westward Ho!
