Contractors will be putting in overnight traffic lights on the A361 Portmore Roundabout for four days from Monday, May 22 to complete surfacing and lining works

Drivers have been given advance warning of overnight traffic lights on the Portmore Roundabout in Barnstaple from Monday.

The temporary signals will be in place for four evenings on the A361 junction for road surfacing and lining work.

It is part of the £1.5million improvement scheme to increase the capacity of the roundabout and work is being carried out by contractor Alun Griffiths Ltd.

The temporary three-way signals will be in operation overnight from 7pm and will be removed before 7am the following morning. All traffic management restrictions at the roundabout will be temporarily removed on Friday (May 26) and over the bank holiday weekend.

Further work will then continue on the verges as well as the installation of signs and street lighting, ahead of the scheduled completion by mid June.
