Marshford Organic Foods has opened up a new shop in Bideford Pannier Market.

THE owner of a family-run organic foods business has returned to her roots by opening up a shop in Bideford Pannier Market.

Vanessa Ebdon, who owns Marshford Organic Foods with her husband Dave, first began trading in the market in the early 1980s when she moved to the area.

But after moving to Barnstaple Pannier Market and opening a farm shop at Marshford, Vanessa has decided to start up in Bideford once more.

“I am on a bit of a mission to try and bring people back to the market,” she said.

“It is a beautiful building, steeped in tradition and history, and I felt it needed somewhere for people to come and buy their food.

“I am really pleased the opportunity to have the shop came up at a time when organic food is so ‘in vogue’ and people are realising its benefits.”

Vanessa currently trades from the market on a Tuesday and said she hoped to start up on a Friday as well in the near future.
