North Devon Veterans Archives want to hear from anyone who served around the world

The appeal has gone out for any forces veterans or their families to share memories and memorabilia before it is too late.

North Devon Veterans Archives wants to record memories or pictures from those who served to preserve them for future generations.

In return they will supply free digital copies of images for print.

Everything is passed on to local and national archives for the benefits of historians, students or anyone with an interest.

The group, which organises the annual Armed Forces Day event and exhibition for local people and schoolchildren each year, is made up of volunteers.

It is particularly keen to boost the collection of 1950s, 60s and 70s images of Hong Kong, Singapore, BAOR, Cyrus, the Canal zone, pre and post war Palestine, Kenya and Ulster, plus 1940s India, Malaya, Greece, Berlin and National Service.
