A BRAND new Costa Coffee has opened in Barnstaple today (Weds).

The red ribbon was officially cut by Barnstaple’s deputy mayor, Cllr Val Elkins.

Manager Callum Williams said he was optimistic that people would come to check out the new café after a quiet start to the day.

Cllr Elkins added: “It’s nice to see something here after it has been vacant for so long, and of course it is employing 10 people as well which is good news.”
