Trade supplier of kitchens and joinery products will be opening a brand new store on the outskirts of Ilfracombe.

A trade supplier of kitchens and joinery products is opening a brand new store on the outskirts of Ilfracombe, providing up to seven new jobs.

Howdens Joinery – which already has a store in Barnstaple – is set to open at Mullacott Industrial Estate early next month.

It is hoped the 8,000ft showroom will initially employ six to seven people, which could grow as business develops at the new site.

The new showroom will compliment the existing Pottington store.

Mark Churchill, head of property at Howdens Joinery, said: “We have been looking for the right property in Ilfracombe for some time and are delighted to be opening shortly at Mullacott Industrial Estate as part of our 2016 expansion programme.”

The new Mullacott Industrial Estate is being developed by owners Clyst Holdings, in conjunction with established commercial builders Devon Contractors of Exeter.

Acting on behalf of the developer, Dom Rosenbaum of John Smale & Co added: “Mullacott is an established industrial estate in North Devon with a good mix of national, regional and local occupiers.

“The new deal to Howdens Joinery is great news for Ilfracombe, hopefully bringing other trade brands to the development with further land available.”

Further commercial land is available for development adjacent to Howdens and the remaining sites can accommodate requirements from 2,000 – 20,000 sq ft.
