New aerial images have been released to show the scale of the Anchorwood Bank site in Barnstaple.

The pictures, released by North Devon Homes, show ground works are continuing to raise and level the site and to build the new roadways.

Building works for the housing area of the site are due to commence in June and when complete will provide 172 new homes compromising 135 market sale and 37 affordable properties.

In addition, North Devon Homes’ partners Wessex Investors will build six retail units, with Next, DFS, Chiquito and Frankie and Benny’s already agreeing and confirming terms for occupation.

North Devon Homes says it will be working with partners Wessex Investors and Pearce Construction to deliver this landmark regeneration project, which it says will have a long lasting, positive impact on the area, creating a significant number of jobs and opportunities for local people.

The company says this is a major investment and an example of how it is taking a more innovative approach to tackle the significant housing issues in North Devon.

Any profits it makes from the sale of new homes will be reinvested into the provision of affordable homes in the local area for people who need them.
