Pharmacy manufacturer announces investment in machinery, equipment and the premises at its Braunton site.

PHARMACY giant Perrigo UK has announced a multi million investment in its Braunton site.

The Dublin-based company has unveiled a £10million investment to grow its UK business over the next three years and says investment will be at its North Devon site on manufacturing and packaging equipment and facility upgrades.

A new Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) system has also been installed to run the business throughout the company’s sites in Braunton, Barnsley and Leeds.

Perrigo UK employs around 450 people in Braunton and supplies over the counter and generic medicines to the retail grocery and pharmacy chains and products to the NHS.

“‘Over the past 10 years Perrigo UK has grown significantly and as we look forward we continue to see strong growth opportunities both in the UK, Europe and internationally,” said Russell Howard, Perrigo UK’s vice president and managing director.

“This investment will enable us to strengthen the business and to capitalise on those opportunities in the near to mid term.”
