TELEVISION and film star Rowan Atkinson, known by most as Mr Bean, has been spotted spending a weekend in North Devon.

Yesterday (Friday) the star of Blackadder and Johnny English was seen at Fremington Quay and Westward Ho!, where he was also spotted having lunch today.

Fremington Quay posted on Facebook yesterday: “We believe that all our customers are special, but when Rowan Atkinson rolls up in a gullwing Mercedes SLS we get out the bunting! And what a lovely man he was too!”

Meanwhile F.Heards Butchers in Westward Ho! said on Facebook shortly afterwards: “Well last customer of today was only Rowan Atkinson aka Mr Bean. Let’s hope all of what he bought is up to his standard!”

Today the star was spotted having lunch at the Pier House in Westward Ho! and was reported to have enjoyed a Hocking’s ice cream in Appledore.

This is the star’s second appearance in North Devon this year - in January he was also spotted in South Molton.
