The Bideford Model Railway Show will return on May 25 following last year’s success.

A CHARITY model railway show will be returning to Bideford in May following the success of last year’s event.

The show will be held at Bideford Pannier Market on Sunday, May 25 and will raise money for Amigos Worldwide and Rotary International charities.

There will be more than 25 working layouts from local modellers, as well as those from much further afield.

All the modellers have given their services for free and paid for their own accommodation, in order to raise as much money for the charities as possible.

The show offers entertainment for both adults and children enthusiasts, with highlights such as a Thomas the tank layout and a grand raffle.

The grand prize worth over £200 has been kindly donated by Hornby. Other prizes include a meal for two at The Mariners – formerly Lathwells – Restaurant.

Last year more than £2,000 was raised for charity, and organiser Maurice Pearce from Osborns Models hopes to do even better this year.

The show is open from 10am to 4pm. Admission costs £3 per adult, £1.50 for children under 16 or a family ticket for £7.50.
