Man trapped under fallen tree at Chivenor

Fire crews called out on Wednesday afternoon to rescue the man, who was taken to hospital.

FIRE crews were called out on Wednesday afternoon to rescue a man trapped underneath a fallen tree.

Fire fighters from Barnstaple and Braunton arrived at the scene in Chivenor at around 2.15pm and found the man trapped under a large branch.

They used small tools, lifting equipment and airbags to life the branch and release the man, who was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
