Man assaulted in Barnstaple High Street

A 17-year-old man was arrested after incident in Barnstaple yesterday (Sun) and remains in custody.

A 17-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after a suspected assault and theft in Barnstaple yesterday (Sunday) evening.

Police were called to Barnstaple High Street at around 8.25pm after an 18-year-old man was assaulted.

The victim received minor injuries and police said it was reported his mobile phone was taken during the incident.

Within 30 minutes police arrested a 17-year-old man who remains in custody this morning on suspicion of assault.
