Man charged with Holsworthy robbery

The 28-year-old was charged with four robbery offences committed over the last three weeks.

A 28-YEAR-OLD man is due to appear in court today (Mon) charged with committing a series of robberies in small shops in Devon and Cornwall.

Jon Marc Stephens was charged with four offences committed in Axminster, Holsworthy and Bude over the last three weeks.

On Thursday, dozens of police officers, the police helicopter and dog handlers scoured the Holsworthy area after the robbery at the Bazaar store in the square.

The other robberies relate to incidents at the Tesco petrol station in Axminster on December 29, Prospect Filling Station in Axminster on Christmas Eve and the Kandy Shop in Bude on December 18.

Stephens was remanded in police custody and will appear at Exeter Magistrates’ Court today.
