Kitchen fire in flat at East-the-Water, Bideford

Two fire engines attended the scene at a block of flats in Watkins Way.

TWO fire engines attended a fire in East-the-Water, Bideford this morning (Weds) in the kitchen of a first floor flat.

Crews from Bideford and Appledore arrived just after 11.30am at the block of flats in Watkins Way.

The small fire involved a cooker in the first floor flat and had left the property slightly damaged by smoke.

Crews used two breathing apparatus wearers, a hose reel jet and covering jet, and a dry powder extinguisher to combat the fire.
