Big hearted bikers rev up for local youngsters.
MOTORCYCLISTS are being invited to arm themselves with an Easter egg or two and join a rally with a difference this Easter Sunday.
The 11th annual ride-out organised by members of the Taw and Torridge Classic Bike Club will set off from the BP Roundswell filling station at 11.30am.
Riders will deliver chocolate eggs to children at Northam Lodge and Chelfham Mill School, near Bratton Fleming.
Club chairman Dave Lemon said: “We had about 65 riders turn out last year, and delivered around 300 eggs to children.
“We had so many, we were even able to make extra deliveries at Children’s Hospice South West and the Caroline Thorpe Ward at North Devon District Hospital.
“We hope to be able to do similar this year – all we ask is that riders bring an Easter egg or two,” he added.
Co-organiser Mel Jones, whose employer Quanex has donated more than 100 eggs for riders to distribute, added: “It’s usually a fantastic event; it’s great to see the kids’ faces when the bikes turn up.
“Anyone is welcome to take part – all you need is a bike, an engine and a couple of eggs.”
