North Devon Council and Parkwood Leisure hope to solve the mysterious problem quickly

Ilfracombe swimming pool will be closed until further notice after the water suddenly drained away yesterday (Wednesday).

In a statement, Contracts Delivery Manager for North Devon Council Mark Kentell said he believed this may have been caused by a major failure of the pipework.

Both Parkwood Leisure, who run the pool, and North Devon Council who own it are now investigating the cause of the problem and hope to solve the problem as soon as possible.

Mr Kentell’s statement continued: “We would like to apologise to all users for the inconvenience caused by this unexpected incident and will try to rectify the problems as soon as we can.”
