Ilfracombe plans traditional night for New Year

10:28 31 December 2012

The town will celebrate the arrival of 2013 on The Square.

AN Ilfracombe New Year’s Eve tradition will continue on Monday night.

In the hour before midnight hundreds will make their way down to “the square” at the junction of the Quay and Broad Street for the annual impromptu New Year celebration.

No one quite knows when or how this spontaneous party tradition began but it has become a huge favourite and the place to see in the New Year in Ilfracombe.
