Mystery and the wonder of science has been blended with the traditional to create a new improved and condensed Ilfracombe Victorian and Steampunk Celebrations.
It all starts of Wednesday, June 13 and runs until Sunday, June 17, with plenty of new events alongside the regular favourites.
The steampunks and Victorians have been merging gradually in recent years, with the historical fantasy sci-fi genre finding a home in the festival.
New events for this year includes the Time Travellers’ Ball on the Friday, plus Victorian Paranormal Evenings on the Thursday and Saturday.
A street food fair is being held on opening Wednesday and on the Thursday evening the Pearlie Kings and Queens are back, plus Old Tyme Music Hall, which is also on Friday.
Plus all the old favourites – suffragettes, Mayor’s Garden Party and grand parade, are back.
A grand fireworks display will once again round off Saturday and Sunday includes Last Night of the Proms plus a Steampunks and Pirates Rum Party.
The theme for this year’s art competition is Sherlock in Fairycombeland and winners will be in galleries around the town.
Pick up your programme at venues around the town or visit the Ilfracombe Steampunk Day Facebook page.
