The crash at Lynton Cross near Ilfracombe saw Devon Air Ambulance fly the injured man to Derriford

A motorcyclist has been air-lifted to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after a crash near Ilfracombe this afternoon (Tuesday).

Police were called at around 3.40pm after the collision between a bike and a car at Lynton Cross on the B3230.

The road was closed both ways at Two Potts while police and the ambulance service attended the scene.

The man riding the motorcycle was air-lifted by Devon Air Ambulance to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. Police said he had ‘potentially life-changing injuries’.

Traffic reports suggest the road is still blocked and could be affecting travel between Barnstaple and Ilfracombe, although the Muddiford road is already closed because of roadworks.
