An assault in Ilfracombe saw a 39-year-old man left with facial injuries and a fractured arm.

Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Ilfracombe left a man with facial injuries and a fracture to his arm.

The incident happened between 1.45am and 2.15am on Saturday, September 9, outside Natwest bank on the Ilfracombe High Street.

Police said the victim, a 39-year-old man, was set-upon by a group of six men following a verbal altercation where the offenders called the victim names and then kicked and punched him on the ground.

He sustained facial injuries and a fracture to his arm for which he has received treatment at hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who may have information relevant to the investigation.
