Inquest heard Keith Barratt was worried about the amount of debt he owed and his lack of a pension.

A HOLSWORTHY man who hung himself was worried about debt and money problems, an inquest heard.

Keith Barratt, 69, was found hanging in a barn at Higher Horslett in Clawton where he lived on the morning of February 18.

A statement from his GP said Mr Barratt had suffered from anxiety for some years and was worried about his future and lack of pension.

The inquest also heard about a previous suicide attempt in 2013 where police had found Mr Barratt on a cliff edge, intending to jump.

Despite finding a bottle of brandy in the barn with his body, coroner Elizabeth Earland said his judgement would not have been impaired.

She recorded a verdict of suicide, and said: “He left a note and I am satisfied he intended the consequences actions.”
