Beach clean will give dunes a lift after stormy winter.

SURFERS Against Sewage’s is holding a Big Spring Beach Clean at Crow Point on Saturday, March 29.

The charity is hoping an army of volunteers will turn up at 10.30am to help clear a large amount of rubbish that has built during the winter storms.

The event is being supported by landowner Christie Estates and North Devon’s UNESCO Biosphere Service and Braunton surf wear firm Saltrock.

Katie Goodfellow, Saltrock marketing manager said: “We all love Crow Point; it’s a really special local spot which often gets overlooked in the beach clean circuit.

“We decided that rather than complain about how much rubbish builds up there we’d roll up our sleeves and do something about it.”

Braunton marsh inspectors have agreed to waive the parking fee for all beach cleaners.

“Just tell the person on the toll that you’re there for the clean and you will be let through free of charge,” said Katie.

“There’ll be stickers and sweets for the kids, too.”
