14:07 28 July 2014

Archant

Fire fighters scrambled to Saturday afternoon callout.

AROUND 80 bales of hay were involved in a fire at Whitehouse in Winkleigh on Saturday afternoon.

Fire crews from Torrington, North Tawton and Chulmleigh along with a water bowser from Barnstaple were scrambled at around 5.15pm.

They remove the bales from the barn with the assistance of the farmer’s tractor and used three hose reel jets and two safety jets to extinguish the blaze.
