LANDKEY toddler group Happy Hands is enjoying soft play sessions thanks to Barnstaple Round Table.

The play equipment is a welcome addition to the twice weekly voluntary group set up by local mums keen to see something in the village for pre school aged children.

The Round Table, which makes donations to local good causes from its fundraising efforts, was happy to help when contacted by Landkey childminder and Happy Hands volunteer Tracey Hommell.

“Thanks to the Round table and fundraising, we have been able to get the soft play equipment and we are keen to promote awareness that we are here and to get people to come along,” she said.

The group meets on Tuesdays and Friday mornings, with play, crafts and fun for children aged from birth to school five-years-old, plus a chance for parents to enjoy a chat and relax.

It was set up by childminder Tracey plus Emma Ley and Jenny Paulin when they met at Landkey School and realised there was nothing for three to fives in the village. They were helped by Sharon Kirk, Winnie Harrison and Pat Andrews.

The group would love to welcome more local mums and children to the weekly sessions. For more information call Tracey on 01271 830618.
