National bakery chain Greggs could be opening another store in North Devon.

A spokesman for the company confirmed it was looking into opening another shop in Barnstaple.

The chain’s first store in the region opened in Barnstaple High Street in May last year, a move which the company said was ‘extremely popular’.

A spokesman for Greggs said: “We are currently looking into a second shop in Barnstaple.

“We will have more information about the possibility of a new shop later in the year.

“Our first shop in Barnstaple has proved extremely popular with the local community.

“We’re pleased to have brought Greggs to this corner of the South West and look forward to continuing to bring everyone’s favourite products to them.”
