These photos show firefighters in action as they continue to battle a major blaze in Exeter’s Cathedral Green.

Some 120 firefighters, including crews from Sidmouth, Ottery St Mary, Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Honiton and Topsham have been deployed to tackle the blaze which started around 5.12am.

Crews are currently battling the blaze which has spread to the historic Royal Clarence Hotel - described as one of the ‘oldest hotels in England.’

Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman there are no reported injuries and road closures in place while crews continue to stop the fire.

In a tweet, D&C Police Drones tweeted: “Currently en route to #Exeter to assist @DSFireUpdates with an overview of the scene. @DC_Police.”

South West Water has altered its network to assist firefighters.
