Half of the profits made from breakfast event will be donated to charity to support swim team ahead of giant challenge.
A FUNDRAISING breakfast in Braunton will be supporting a team of five tackling a Great Big Monster Sea Swim.
Earlier this month, the Gazette told the tale of swimmers Paul Irwin, Bruce Hughes, John Jameson, Karl Whittaker, and Jon Parker, who will be swimming more than 100 miles to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.
On September 9, from 9.30am-1.30pm, the Corner Bistro in Braunton will be donating 50 per cent of all profits from their breakfast menu to the charity to support the swimmers.
The restaurant will be ‘branded up’ with flags from the team’s supporters and literature on the charity for all to read.
Swimmer Paul Irwin said: “Our swim team also will be there - we’ll be training in the morning and working up an appetite.
“There’ll be good coffee, an amazing breakfast, balloons for the kids and bang sticks as give-aways.”
The swimmers were originally set to begin the challenge last Friday, but due to a fault with one of the boats will be setting off on September 21.
