Flood alerts have been issued for North Devon as a band of heavy rainfall is expected to come in overnight.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for North Devon between midnight and 10am tomorrow (Tuesday).
And the Environment Agency has also issued flood alerts for rivers in the Barnstaple, Braunton, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin area.
A spokesman for the EA said: “A band of heavy rain is forecast to pass over Devon overnight. We expect rivers to rise.
“Take care near low lying land and roads close to rivers where flooding is possible and monitor your local weather conditions.
“We are monitoring river levels and this message will be updated on Tuesday morning or earlier if the situation changes.”
The Met Office warned of heavy rain and ‘some very strong winds’.
A spokesman said: “Some delays to road, rail and ferry transport are likely, including for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.
“Spray and some flooding on roads will probably make journey times longer.”
