Flood alert issued for North Devon

The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the North Devon coast between Hartland Point and Lynmouth this evening (Sunday, September 10).

A flood alert means that flooding is possible, and residents should be prepared.

The Environment Agency says strong winds are forecast to cause overtopping of sea defences in coastal locations, and people are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast.

High water is forecast at Ilfracombe at 9.41pm, but this will vary along the coast.
