Environment Agency says flooding is possible in Barnstaple, Braunton, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin on Saturday

A flood alert has been issued for North Devon today (Saturday).

The Environment Agency issued the alert for Barnstaple, Braunton, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin on Saturday morning, with a band of heavy rain set to move across the county during the afternoon.

The alert said: “Rivers are rising and expected to peak on Saturday evening.

“River levels remain sensitive to rainfall and flooding of low lying land and roads is possible.”
