Join the Big Borrow on Saturday (July 5) and show your support for the library in Braunton.
Braunton’s Big Borrow this Saturday is inviting everyone in the village to max out their library cards and leave with an armful of books.
The Save Braunton Library Campaign is calling on every member of the library to exercise their right to borrow free books whenever they wish – and make a statement before the library cuts consultation closes.
“Thanks to all the support for our campaign, we’ve had Braunton library reclassified as a larger Devon Centre – but its future is still far from certain,” said chairman Ben Hewitt.
“We want to send Devon County Council one last message how much we love our library. We’re going to see how many books we can take out in one go and we want you to help us.”
The Big Borrow starts at 10am on Saturday and those without a library card can register before the event.
The campaign has also launched a new consultation with local children to hear their ideas and views on the future of the library.
The consultation ends on July 17. Consultation forms are available from the library or visit https://new.devon.gov.uk/libraryreview/feedback-form
