Firefighters work though the night to tackle North Molton barn fire

Crews from Barnstaple and South Molton alerted to farm blaze.

FIREFIGHTERS are still tackling a fire that broke out at a farm in North Molton in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).

Crews from Barnstaple and South Molton were alerted shortly before 2am.

They have been working through the night to extinguish a barn containing straw, vehicles, machinery and some asbestos.

The incident was scaled down at 3.36am and was being allowed to burn out under supervision with one hose reel jet and a foam branch.

At 8am, crews reported making steady progress using a ventilation fan and one hose reel jet.
