A FIRE in a public toilet in Ilfracombe on Saturday night is believed to have been started deliberately.

Two fire crews from the town were called to the harbour area just after 10pm to find a small fire in the cubicle of the public toilets.

The fire was out on arrival and crews dampened it down using a hose reel jet.

A fire spokesman said the incident was believed to have been caused deliberately.
