Fire fighters rescue man impaled on roof

Two fire engines and a specialist rescue team were called to the scene at West Down yesterday (Sun).

A MAN had to be rescued from a roof by fire crews in West Down yesterday (Sun) afternoon after becoming impaled.

Two fire engines from Ilfracombe and Woolacombe and the specialist rescue team from Barnstaple were called to the scene at around 1.20pm.

The man had fallen onto the flat roof, impaling his arm on a roofing slate pin.

Fire crews released the man and brought him to safety.
