FIRE crews were called to South Molton yesterday (Tues) evening to help a horse that had become stuck in the mud.

A crew from Dulverton and a special rescue team from Barnstaple rushed to the horse’s aid at Ash Mill at around 7.30pm.

Crews found a male horse stuck in a slurry put and quickly got to work to help release the horse.

A vet assisted the rescue and the horse was safely retrieved from the pit.
