Three fire engines were called to the scene on Saturday afternoon.

THREE fire engines were called to a furniture mill in South Molton on Saturday after reports of a chipboard fire within a building.

Upon arrival crews from South Molton and Barnstaple found the large Norbord building containing a heavily smoke-logged furnace.

Crews arrived at 2.20pm and used breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera and a hose reel jet to combat the fire.

The fire was extinguished and crews ventilated the property while waiting for the sprinkler system to be isolated.
