A campaign has been set up on Facebook to ‘Help Find Arrius’ after he vanished from a field in Shebbear last week.
A FAMILY who fear their horse was stolen from a field in Shebbear have set up a Facebook page to find him.
Arrius, a 15-year-old bay thoroughbred gelding, went missing some time between 10am on Thursday, August 22 and 8.30am on Friday, August 23.
Ellen Blight, who looks after Arrius for her 25-year-old daughter Kaylee, was devastated when she discovered the horse was gone.
He is described as being 15.3 hands, and freeze marked on his back with K9C5. He is also micro-chipped.
The family set up a Facebook page on Monday called ‘Help Find Arrius’, which has already gained more than 1,500 followers.
Ellen said: “If you look on his page you will see how many people and places we have contacted and there are more to go on the list.
“World Horse Welfare (WHW) is actively searching for him.
“We also have local riders and other friends looking for him in surrounding fields and on Northam Burrows.”
Several of the posts on the page have received hundreds of shares nationwide, and Ellen said all markets and ports have been contacted and are being monitored by WHW.
She said: “So many people are spreading the word and looking for him, putting up posters, etc. It is totally unbelievable and we can never thank them enough.
“I just hope we will have some good news to spread soon.”
Anyone with any information on Arrius’ whereabouts is asked to contact Ellen on 07508 919989 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Alternatively, contact police on non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously quoting crime reference CT/13/479.
