False alarm for bus fire on North Devon Link Road

Crews were called to reports of a bus fire but arrived at the scene to find only some oil on the road.

TWO fire engines were scrambled to reports of a bus on fire on the A361 Link Road this morning (Mon) but arrived to find nothing there.

Paul Slaven, of Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue, said crews found some oil on the road but no bus in sight.

The incident was reported at around 8.25am on the road between Landkey and West Buckland.

Crews dealt with the oil on the road before leaving the scene.
