The Exmoor Society has set up a number of scenic guided walks that are taking place all over North Devon this year.

Dry Bridge & East Lyn walk Dry Bridge & East Lyn walk

The programme provides an opportunity for participants to walk through diverse landscapes while learning about the plant and animal life from an experienced guide.

The first walk is on Tuesday (April 10) and meets at Dry Bridge for a moorland and East Lyn valley walk (see below).

Rachel Thomas, chairman of the society said: In the society’s special 60th anniversary year, the wonderfully diverse programme is only possible through the generosity of walk leaders in sharing their time, expertise and passion.

“It pays tribute to all those who lead walks in all weathers and all places.”

The society was established in 1958 as a way of promoting and organising conservation of landscapes and their wildlife.

It continues to campaign against adverse proposals for building work and other changes.
