Emergency services rescue woman from coast path

The woman needed assistance from paramedics, coastguard and fire fighters after she was suspected to have broken her ankle.

A WOMAN with a suspected broken ankle was rescued from the Coastal Path at Mortehoe this afternoon by emergency services.

A fire engine from Woolacombe was called to assist the ambulance crew who needed help to recover the woman from the coast path.

Fire crews attended the scene around 4pm and assisted paramedics and the Coastguard.

The woman had to be taken to the ambulance using the Coastguard’s four wheel drive vehicle.

The ambulance then took her to hospital.
