The 28-year-old from Bideford admitted ‘being stupid’ after being charged with driving without due care and attention.
A BIDEFORD man came close to losing his driving licence on Friday after pleading guilty to driving without due care and attention.
Kyle Buttle, 28, of Kingsley Road, appeared at North Devon Magistrates’ Court following a collision on July 13 last year.
The court heard he had been driving his Honda Civic along Old Bideford Road when he saw a blue Vauxhall Astra coming towards him.
Buttle slammed his foot on the brake which caused the car to skid and he lost control, crashing into the oncoming car.
His vehicle was severely damaged and he injured his foot in the collision. Two passengers in the other car also suffered minor injuries.
Buttle, who was unrepresented in court, admitted he had been driving ‘a bit fast’ and said he was ‘being stupid’.
He was given six penalty points on his licence and fined £70, and magistrates warned him to be ‘very, very careful’ in future to avoid losing his licence.
